As you know, Canada Post is our preferred shipping provider, and on July 2nd the union will be in a legal strike position. In 2011 when this happened, Canada Post locked out the workers, and it took 11 days for a new contract to be settled.
We will keep you updated on our website, on Twitter, and on our Facebook page as we learn more about this situation, invoices are going out as usual, and paying them helps us to keep our cashflow open so we can pay our bills on time.
We have been told that packages in the system would be held at a depot until the situation is resolved, and we don’t know how long that would be.
We’re hoping that the situation will be resolved before the deadline, but to be safe, we are not sending anything out this week until we know more about the strike or lockout possibilities.
We’ve been looking into alternatives (many of whom are taking this opportunity to try to sign small businesses up for multi-year terms), but so far we haven’t found anything suitable.
If you live in the Greater Toronto Area, contact us, and we will make arrangements to pick up or drop off comics.
Thanks for your patience.
